It seems every week there is a new fad diet or miracle weight loss cure. Fad diets come and go because they are not sustainable for very long. When considering a nutrition plan, one must remember that weight management is a lifestyle that must be tailored to each individual. What works for one might not work for another. Jouvence Rejuvenation offers nutritional services in concert with the three-pronged approach to Age Management. Every nutrition plan is customized to each client's specific needs and goals; never will Jouvence Rejuvenation offer a one size fits all plan.
Jouvence Rejuvenation's nutrition programs follow the Glycemic Index, encouraging patients to eat foods that will provide the most energy over the longest period of time without causing insulin production to spike. Eating a lot of high GI foods can be detrimental to your health because it pushes your body to extremes. This is especially true if you are overweight and sedentary. Switching to eating mainly low GI carbs that slowly trickle glucose into your blood stream keeps your energy levels balanced and means you will feel full longer.
- Low GI diets
- help people lose and control weight
- increase the body's sensitivity to insulin
- are easy to follow
- Low GI carbs
- improve Diabetes control and prevent Type II Diabetes
- reduce the risk of heart disease
- carbs reduce blood cholesterol levels
- carbs reduce hunger and keep you fuller longer
- carbs prolong physical endurance.

- Ensure your diet is 60 to 65 per cent carbohydrate content - that is, fruits, vegetables, breads, pastas and rice. Of this amount, 55 per cent should be in the form of complex carbohydrates and whole-grain products, and no more than 10 per cent from simple carbohydrates (cakes, etc.). Complement this with a diet that is 20 to 30 per cent fat, and finally balance off your diet with 15 per cent protein - meats, soy and dairy products. Make sure you limit fats, particularly saturated fats and trans fats, and refined sugar.
- Focus on minimally processed fruits, vegetables, whole grain legumes, nonfat milk and lean meat, especially fish.
- Take a supplement which will replace the antioxidants and vitamins you are not receiving from your diet.
- Practice portion control and make every bite count.
- Limit alcohol and caffeine intake.
- Hydrate with plenty (8-10 glasses) of water throughout the day.
- Consume five small meals a day instead of 3 larger ones. This will support an increase in your metabolism and prevent binging.
